Do you want to campaign to reduce inequality in society?
Do you want to campaign to make a difference in your community?
Do you want to campaign on behalf of those most vulnerable in society?
These are the questions our volunteer campaigners ask themselves everyday.
Help us to Help You.
We need you to let us know when you have been unfairly treated or discriminated against, and if you feel certain policies and practices are unfair.
Everyday at the Citizen Advice Bureaux we are the frontline facing client issues and problems, and one of our aims is that we try our best to help our clients overcome a variety of individual problems.
Our second aim is that we try to influence and drive for change on a local and national level, therefore we can stop these problems from happening again in the future. Policy introduced by the government to deal, tackle and improve social issues doesn’t always work and this is where we step in to campaign on your behalf.
Social policy is a part of our everyday lives and affects us all in some way. It has an effect on various sectors of our society for example; health, social security, disability, employment and education.
It is important to understand we live in a diverse society and the performance of policy and their results can depend on your gender, ethnicity, class, poverty and disability. Therefore the Citizen Advice Bureaux tries to challenge unfairness and work for change so we can reduce social disadvantage.
