Separated single parent with 4 children, one daughter has mental health problems, probably drug related psychosis. Client is student and also works part time, older children look after younger ones when she is working. She has range of debts including rent arrears and has been threatened with repossession. The scale of the problems has clearly overwhelmed client who does not show up for appointments, and then puts various papers through the door for us to assess and sort out. Without seeing her it is very difficult to move things forward and it seems that the problems are becoming entrenched now and it is unlikely that she will be able to avoid losing her home. With earlier intervention and more support she may have been able to stay in her home and establish a realistic budget.
